I'm running around in the old homestead tonight getting things ready for a weekend on retreat. I will be staying in the Windmill - as you can see in the picture - and I have a presentation to give on Saturday at the retreat House just down the hill from the hermitage..

But the rest of the weekend will be mine! It is supposed to rain and it can be very cozy in the Windmill on rainy days. I have a book or two that I am bringing along, and there will be plenty of quiet time for meditation. The Windmill actually was a working windmill many years ago. The works are long gone but you can still see the base of the apparatus in the cellar floor.

The Windmill has 3 floors, and slightly sloping walls so now and then your eyes play tricks on you. The first floor has a very small kitchenette and the "living room" area with a love seat, comfortable chair, desk and chair. The second floor has a full bath and a prayer/meditation room. The 3rd floor is the bedroom, with 2 twin beds. It's like sleeping in the treetops.

Of course, when you are on the first floor something you want will be on the 3rd, and vice versa. You start to feel like a squirrel running up and down the stairs. But it's a lovely, comfortable little slice of heaven. And I get to be there for 3 nights!

I can't wait!
