I just re-read my "Lucky Lindy" blog after several months, and the 6 degrees of separation theory came to mind.
You know, we probably all have more in common with each other than we have differences. In some way, we are all connected. Why is that so hard to conceive of? Look at small-town USA. Everybody knows everybody and is related by blood or marriage to almost everybody. When we think of the earth within a huge, infinite universe, it puts it a little more into perspective. We are a tiny blip on the screen. The earth is actually a small town when viewed as part of the universe. That 6 degrees of separation links us all together. Maybe if we all really thought like that more often, the world would be a kinder, gentler place.
