It's been a week and I am still jet lagged, and recovering from the overload of our whirlwind tour of "essential Europe." Took my daughter on her graduation/birthday/Christmas request of seeing Europe again, beginning with Rome.
Our hotel was just half a block from St. Peter's and Vatican City. We did well with the time change. I was quite surprised at the Sistine Chapel's size and having to search the ceiling for the historic "fingers" of God and man. Art everywhere, history with every foot fall, and an undaunting sensory overload at every stop.
The next days and weeks will be a slow download as we reflect on pictures, comments and events. I'm preaching in a few weeks, so will probably a bit of this experience salted among the paragraphs ... in the mean time, I'm still tired so I'm headed for a well deserved nap!
