Hi!

It’s nice to have a moment to sit down and blog about what’s going on in my life. It’s been busy, busy, busy – my family and I just returned from a glorious holiday in England and before that I spent most of June working on location in Calgary, Alberta, where I was starring in a new movie being made for The Hallmark Channel.

It’s called ‘Dear Prudence’ and it’s premiering on The Hallmark Channel this Saturday night, 23 August, at 9 PM/ 8 PM Central.

I’m thrilled to be back on television on Saturday night. It brings back wonderful memories of Dr. Quinn, which ran for so many years on Saturday night as well. I also feel blessed to have a chance to play a character – Prudence McCoy, an advice columnist with a big heart and a determination to help people who need a hand – who embodies and embraces the family-oriented values that made Dr. Quinn so popular and so meaningful to millions of viewers and such a delight for me to play.

Since I was intimately involved in the development of the character of Prudence McCoy from the earliest stages of the writing process, I was able to infuse Prudence with many of the values that I’ve found to be such rewarding parts of my own life -- compassion, sincerity, honesty and a willingness to fight for things, and causes, in which I believe.

The movie itself is a blend of a clever mystery, an emotionally compelling sub-plot involving Prudence and her mother, a romantic connection with a sexy detective and a lot of laughs and fun. It’s a dramatic comedy, with heart and soul, and every day spent making the movie was such fun.

Please join me on Saturday night, on The Hallmark Channel, to watch the premier of ‘Dear Prudence’. Then write and let me know what you think about my newest creation, Prudence McCoy. I hope you enjoy watching her as much as I enjoying playing her.
