Registration begins the
week of August 25, 2008

Visit our website at www.rahwayartsguild.org to view and print out our online catalog and fill out a registration form. You can now pay by credit card using PayPal through our website.

To register by phone call (732) 381-7511, or email us your request at artsguild1670@verizon.net. You may also register in person at our office Monday through Friday between 9:00-12:00 pm, or between 1:00-4:00 pm. Full payment must be recieved by the first day of class to ensure your space in the class. Registration is on a first come, first serve basis.

Life under the bigtop! This exhibit of photography includes work by 5 artists who have captured the "behind the scenes" life in the circus and the performances of circus stars.

Wax paint or encaustic paint is an ancient process dating back to the pre-Classical Greek era and the age of the pharaohs. Encaustic employs a "paint" made from bees wax and pigments which are applied by brush or other means to create realistic or abstract images and designs.

The Arts Guild of Rahway is a non-profit organization that receives yearly support from many foundations, corporations and government units. We also raise funding we need to operate through the fees we charge for various programs, individual contributions, support from local small businesses and civic groups and yearly membership dues.

DAYTIME ADULT CLASSES (NEW!!!)
Acrylic Painting: An excellent class to learn some of the many ways traditionally used in acrylilc painting from washes to glazing with acrylic medium, use of gels and additives for texture. Materials list available at registration. Wednesdays September 24-November 12

Oil Painting: Working from still life displays, landscape and other inspirational sources explore the technical, formal and creative aspects of painting original artworks with oils. Lessons will focus on a variety of methods used to produce successful oil paintings including color mixing and color theory, tranparent glazes, design and underpainting. Materials list available at registration. Wednesdays September 24-November 12

Watercolor: Learn the use of the medium of watercolor to create vivid, colorful original works of art. This class will take you through the many ways to create your own art with watercolor paints. Emphasis will be on color, blending, composition, precision, form, light and shade and the use of brushes. Materials list will be provided at registration. Thursdays September 25-November 20 (no class 10/9)

Drawing: Learn to use graphite, charcoal, conte crayon and ink in a series of exercises used to create original artworks. Focus will be on use of perspective, composition, proportion, positive/negative space, texture and other techniques designed to provide a reperatoire of methods to make your own landscape, still life and free-style drawings. Materials list will be provided at registration. Fridays Sept. 26-November 14

EVENING ADULT CLASSES
Drawing: Learn to use graphite,charcoal, conte crayon and ink in a series of excercises used to create original artworks. Mondays 7:00-9:30 pm September 22-November 17 (no class 10/13)

Life Drawing OPEN STUDIO: Live models pose each week for artists to draw. Long and short poses during each session. NO Instructor. Artists are responsible for their own tools and materials. Tuesdays 7:00-9:30 pm October 7-November 25

Watercolor: Learn to use the medium of watercolors to create vivid, colorful original works of art. Wednesdays 7:00-9:30 pm September 24-November 12

Beginning Stained Glass: Create a Tiffany style (copper foil) technique stained glass lampshade. Glass cutting, foil wrapping, soldering and finsihed covered. Students responsible for tools and materials. List availble at first class. Thursdays 7:00-9:00 pm September 25-November 20 (no class 10/9)

Intermediate Stained Glass: Advanced techniques/projects in stained glass. Must have some experience cutting glass, soldering and working from patterns. Project options depend on proficiency with glass including more complicated lampshades, stained glass window panels or even stained glass sculptural pieces and holiday ornaments. Thursdays 7:00-9:00 pm September 25-November 20 (no class 10/9)

AFTERNOON TEEN CLASSES
