I was at a pot luck dinner to celebrate the ending of the fencing year at my son’s fencing club. This was a very informal affair with no one in charge as we walked in early dragging two entrées a vegetarian Italian tomato, zucchini and potato all right from our garden stew. In addition there was Garlic bread, an orange upside down cake that my wife whipped up. Soon, some other people showed up. There was the apprehension of just tables of brownies and cookies other hen my wife’s dishes. But then as always meals start to appear. A micro biotic thing I just stared at. A rack of the sweetest ribs, t, I have eaten in years. Three bowels of fresh fruit salad, Fresh salmon& cream cheese roll ups, sliced mozzarella with fresh tomato and home made pumpernickel bread. It just kept coming in someone whipped up pad Thai, a broccoli noodle salad another tofu thing I stared at. Of course at pot lucks people are walking and eating so mingling naturally occurs as a sense of togetherness making these types of experiences at least for me very special. In fact since this was the last night my son will be at the club this door was closing. My wife feeling this told me that as this door closes a new one will open then she presents me with the high school wrestling team schedule of our grandson.
