December 26, 2011, and I made it through Christmas . . . without crying or sleeping extra hours or "zoning out" on all of my surroundings.
Mom is gone. The advanced stages of Alzheimer's took her life on February 3, 2011.

Have you known someone this life-time
That was here and now is gone?
You remember easily their cheerful-laugh
And maybe took a walk with them at dawn
Does your heart ache for them sometimes?
When you have a moment all alone?

Why cry for a soul set free?

Our cat Willie (or Sir William as he preferred to be called) left us today. He was 17 years old and I always referred to him as my big guy. He was a big guy weighing almost 16 pounds.

Crimson was a 26 year-old chestnut gelding - part Saddlebred - part Arab. My husband purchased him from a friend back in 1995 after having ridden him for a couple of years. He was always a head strong horse that loved to run. Getting him going was...
